academic advising
Summit’s Academic Advisor serves as a Christ-centered guide, walking alongside students as they discover and develop the gifts God has given them. Believing that every learner is uniquely created with purpose, the advisor provides both spiritual encouragement and practical direction to help students pursue excellence for God’s glory. This includes overseeing annual standardized testing (CTP4 for grades 1–10) and providing resources for PSAT, SAT, and ACT preparation, while also using test data to strengthen Summit’s curriculum and instruction.
In addition, the advisor assists Upper School students in planning their academic paths—helping them select courses that meet the requirements for Basic, Standard, or Advanced diplomas while aligning with their personal strengths, callings, and future goals. Beyond academics, the advisor offers support in college and career planning, sharing resources on scholarships, colleges, and vocational opportunities, and guiding students through the transcript and application process. Through all these efforts, Summit’s Academic Advisor seeks to cultivate discernment, responsibility, and confidence in students as they prepare to impact the world for Christ.
