The Throupe family has been active at Summit since 2019, when his son began kindergarten. In 2021, Justin began serving as the Upper School Principal, and will now serve as Summit’s fifth Head of School. Prior to joining Summit, Justin worked in public education for 15 years as a high school teacher, coach, and administrator. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Christopher Newport University as well as an Eds. in School Policy and Administration from Virginia Tech. Justin and his wife, Lori, have two children at the Grammar School.
